Imeraval Phase 4 Development Update
Construction work has now started on site to build 20 new homes at Port Ellen on the island of Islay.
The homes will be a mixture of 1 bed flats and 2/3 bed villas. 16 of the units will be for social rent, with 4 units for sale under New Supply Shared Equity Scheme (NSSE).
The development has been funded through a Scottish Government grant of £2.9m, a £240k grant from Argyll & Bute Council, and £760k from West Highland Housing Association.
The development is being built by MacLeod Construction, with project management consultancy by Macdonald & Cameron Ltd and Martin Aitken Associates as Employers Agent.
Brett Sadler, Chief Executive of West Highland Housing Association said: ‘It is great to see this new development at Port Ellen now on site. This is the fourth phase of our development at Port Ellen and supports West Highland Housing Association’s continued commitment to developing much needed social housing for island communities. Islay is an island that is continuing to grow at a rapid pace, so there is a huge need to support that growth with more housing’.
The Imeraval phase 4 development at Port Ellen is expected to complete February 2024. Applications for the social rented properties can be made online at www.homeargyll.co.uk and interest in the NSSE properties please get in touch mail@westhighlandha.co.uk
