During the late spring of 2008 West Highland Housing Association (WHHA) were assessed by the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) and it was deemed that they wished to adopt a medium level of engagement with the organisation.
The Housing Scotland Regulator stated their reasons for this assessment in their Regulation Plan. Item 3 of the Regulation Plan stated:
“We need assurances that the Association is improving its performance in respect of performance repairs. We want the Association to produce an improvement plan which outlines the steps it will take to improve its performance in repairs service. We expect West Highland to submit an improvement plan to us by the end of October 2008 to address this issue and report on progress against the plan by April 2009”.
The Association immediately started addressing the short fall in service provision and subsequently submitted its Improvement Plan to the Scottish Housing Regulator on 27th October 2008. WHHA received a response from the SHR on the 11th December 2008 making comment on some of the points within the report.
The update to the Repairs Service Improvement Plan was submitted on 25th March 2009. A request for further information was issued by the regulator on 30th March 2009.
This report sets out to provide an update on progress on the Repairs Service at WHHA and provides further information on development of the Repairs Improvement Plan taking on board the comments of the SHR.
